Protecting Local Services (Service/Asset Devolution Framework)

On 3 March 2025 Rother District Council’s (RDC) Cabinet agreed proposals to create a framework within which to protect and sustain the assets and services which our communities value and need. A link to the full report can be found here.

This will be achieved by empowering local partners and ensuring financial and operational sustainability, building on the previous devolution work and Policy framework, it will enable us to secure assets and services for future community benefit and place decision making and accountability at a truly local level.

It will also help to reduce costs, which is important to protect Rother District Council’s medium term financial position, whilst also minimising any future liabilities being passed to any new unitary authority.
