A copy of our latest Council Plan can be found here: Our Council Plan 2025-2029 and should be referenced to ensure any proposals align with the Council’s aims, objectives and aspirations for the district.
Given the time constraints we are facing as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LRG) across Sussex, organisational capacity and precept deadlines, the window for the submission of any Expression of Interest (EOI) will run for a 6 month period until 30 September 2025, after which time no further submissions will be accepted.
The initial assessment will include checking that the application meets the eligibility criteria to be considered, following which applicants will be notified accordingly. Further guidance regarding the requirements for the EOI can be found within the approved Framework document.
It might be helpful to start considering some of the issues that would need to be considered and resolved should this initial EOI be accepted and a Business Plan be required (where appropriate):
- Organisation’s capacity, knowledge and resources to manage asset/service?
- How would you monitor the transferred asset/service?
- Would the transfer have an effect on other services?
- Is there an existing contract/lease in place?
- What are the running costs of the service?
- Are there any implications for costs or public liability insurance?
- Do the local community support the request?
- Are there implications for staff transfers from current contractor/RDC to you?
Please however note that these issues do not need to be addressed as part of your initial EOI submission.
